BIM and digitization of the construction process in the Public Administration – free seminar
The free seminar “BIM and digitization of the construction process: how does the role of the Public Administration change?” will be held at the Chamber of Commerce of Verona on 27th June 2018, in order to analyze the evolution of the public construction sector in Italy. The event is organized by Contec Ingegneria and BIS-lab® Building Innovation & Skills Lab in collaboration with STR – Teamsystem.
CONTEXT
In the last period the theme of digital is investing the Public Administrations on several fronts. One of these is the sector of the public works: the D.M. 560, issued in December 2017, has imposed on the P.A. specific obligations regarding the progressive adoption of digital methods and tools for the management of the building process. This methodology is internationally known as BIM – Building Information Modeling .
Although the use of three-dimensional informative models of the building constitutes the most evident aspect of BIM, BIM is actually a Project Management tool that implies a set of procedures and tools for a digital management of information and project informative flows. This is the theme of the UNI 11337 standard, currently the main technical reference in the Italian context for the implementation of BIM.
The benefits that BIM is able to offer, mainly in terms of process control and efficient use of the information produced at different stages, have already prompted many purchasers, both public and private, to adopt this methodology for the management of their projects.
The role of the Purchaser is essential in this transition to digital that involves the entire supply chain and entails both risks and opportunities, like any change. The seminar aims to provide the necessary awareness of the topic to minimize the risks and maximize the opportunities.
AIMS
The aims of the seminar are the following: to provide professionals, employees and collaborators of the Public Administration with the fundamental concepts for the implementation of the BIM methodology in public tenders, as provided for in the D.M. 560/17 and the technical standard UNI 11337; to provide context data to understand the state of the art in Italy; to provide operational references through the introduction of case studies.
RECIPIENTS
Personnel and collaborators of the Public Administration or similar bodies (eg. companies that deal with public goods, public services or public works) with delegation and responsibility regarding the management of works and tenders.
