Gruppo Contec takes an important step in environmental sustainability with the creation of a forest in Kenya, consisting of 500 fruit trees. Each person in the Group has been assigned a tree, and they can track its growth through regular updates directly from the farmers.
Gruppo Contec is putting down roots for environmental sustainability through its own forest of 500 trees planted in Kenya.
The Group has committed to growing 500 fruit trees, including typical Kenyan plants such as cashew, moringa, papaya, and neem, creating a forest that belongs to everyone in Gruppo Contec—and not only them..
The forest will also benefit the local Kenyan community taking care of it, providing agricultural and economic development through the fruits they will harvest. This will lead to broader environmental, social, and economic benefits.
The trees planted have big ambitions: to bring benefits to both the environment and the people living there.
This initiative to invest in the sustainability of Gruppo Contec was made possible with the technical and organizational support of
Treedom (
www.treedom.net), which helped us make this small but significant “green” dream a reality.
Treedom is an organization that works with NGOs and local communities to select the right tree for the right place and purpose, with a focus on the medium and long term.
Because we don’t just want to plant trees, we want to make them grow!
